The Life New and Fantastic.
Aug. 22nd, 2012 11:54 pmIt was their first commerce planet since...well, everything had changed. Repeatedly. It was all simultaneously a blur and perfectly clear at the same time. As he walked across the surface of the world - a world overwhelmed with dark smells and grungy stalls - he still turned it over and over in his head again.
He was a father. He was married. D'argo was gone. The war was over, he was free of Scorpius - for the moment, at least - and Harvey, too. He was free. More importantly, they were free. It was mad. It was perfect. Almost. He was finding it hard to mourn his friend amongst all the happiness life had bestowed upon him. And that bothered him. Chewed at his mental heels, as it were.
He looked over to Aeryn, wondering if he should tell her about it. Wondering if she was feeling something similar.
They were being watched, too. He didn't notice that. Perhaps with all his thoughts, it was inevitable. Or perhaps he just wanted to be free of danger so much that he missed it unconsciously.
